SİF JCB offers backhoe loader and JS Excavator Training to its Authorized Service Dealers

Backhoe Loader and JS Excavator Trainings from 4 - 7 September 2006 at SİF JCB Headquarters’ Training Hall, saw the participation of 13 selected staff from SIF JCB Authorized Service Dealers.

The training provided by SİF JCB Service Engineer Levent Şendurgut included overall introduction of machines as well as instructions on how to diagnose problems, connecting laptop and digital hydraulic test devices to the machine, the hydraulics –electrical system of the machine, gear/engine installation-deinstallation and maintenance both in theory and practice.

SİF JCB OffShore Team keeps on speeding

SIF JCB Team in its third season during Offshore Championship held by Istanbul OffShore Club, finished sixth with its new boat in the sixth leg of the race that took place on 2-3 September.

We wish our best for our team for the final race to take place on 23-24 September in İstanbul Caddebostan.

JS200 Training from SİF JCB SSH Department

On 17-19 July, 10 participants from SIF JCB authorized service dealers were given a 3-day JS 200 Excavator training at SIF JCB Headquarters’ Training Hall.

Provided by SİF JCB Service Engineer, Levent Şendurgut, this training included topics like introduction of JS 200 excavators, diagnostic skills, connecting laptop to machine, hydraulics-electrical system of the machine, maintenance in both theory and practice.

1CX and TLT 30 training for the operators of Konya Municipality

For ICX and TLT30 sold to Konya Municipality, 10 operators of the Municipality were trained on site by SIF JCB Product Managers Yalçın Kaçmaz and Bora Karaosmanoğlu on June 14, 2006.

Our Gaziantep Authorized Service Dealer Gap-İş Moved into Its New Premises...

The new building of our Gaziantep Authorized Service Dealer Gap-Iş, opened with a ceremony on July 19, with the participation of SIF JCB’s General Manager, Cüneyt Divriş.

New service building of Gap-İş, which will serve JCB customers in Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep and Kilis, covers a total of 800 m2 service area.

We now have 21 authorized service dealers across Turkey

As SIF JCB expands its service network, its leadership in the business is demonstrated one more time by the increasing number of its authorized service dealers. The latest members in the network are Gezer-İş in Edremit and Yol Makina in Kayseri, which increased the total number of dealers 21.

SİF JCB’s After-Sales Services Director Recep Çimen said that they wished to provide perfect service and spare parts support to their customers and achieve highest customer satisfaction.

Heavy Duty Machine demos continue

SIF JCB gearing up for a big heavy duty machine sales operation, aims to introduce this machine range and let the potential customers test it with live demos.

First demo took place at Gür-er İnşaat Taşköprü Stone Mill on 24 August 2006. During the demo where the JCB 456 was explained with all its features, the machine showed spectacular performance with its skillful operator.

Sedat Kosova, who used and tested our machine said that JCB 456 was ideal for his sand mine.

Another demo was requested by our Southern Marmara dealer Teknoart and took place at Taci Tosun Agrega Plants. The company which has Hyundai 250, Hyundai 170W excavators, Kawasaki Z90 loader, Cat 428C backhoe loader, also owns a JCB 4CX-SM backhoe loader.

SİF JCB Demos in Mediterranean Region

SİF JCB Construction Machines, with the contribution of Mediterranean Dealer Apa Makina, displayed various demos in Mediterranean Area, some of which can be quoted as the Fethiye demo on June 20, Kumluca demo on June 21, Alanya demo on June 22, Gazipaşa demo on June 23, Anamur demo on June 26, and Bozyazı on June 27.

SIF JCB Product Managers Yalçın Kaçmaz and Bora Karaosmanoğlu traveled 4500 km during 8-day demo tour and reached around 500 customers. During the demos where JCB brand 8032 and 8045ZTS Mini Excavators were introduced, 5-ton mini excavator which had been displayed for the first time during Ankomak fair, particularly attracted huge attention.

Participants were also given JCB hats as gifts during the demo which local press largely covered.

531-70 demo for log factories in Bursa

In order to introduce JCB 531-70 to log factories in Bursa and to show that the machines can be used with a log attachment, a demo was held on June 28, with the participation of 32 people from 20 companies.

Recycling İstanbul 2006

SİF JCB İş Makinaları participated in the RECYCLING ISTANBUL 2nd Waste Management and Recycling Technologies Fair at TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center on 22 - 25 June, with its 175W, 531-70, TLT4x4, Robot170 and Micro machines. Displaying its strength in the area of recycling and waste management industries, SIF JCB welcomed 106 guests to its 220 m2 indoor stand during the fair.

SİF JCB at AGRITHRACE 2006

SİF JCB participated in the AGRITHRACE 2006 (14. Trakya Agriculture) Fair held on 16-20 August 2006, at Çorlu Orion Shopping Mall’s Car Park. During the fair, Fastrac 3190, TM 300, JS 160, 1CX, 8045 and 531-70 FS were displayed to the visitors.

Showing its strength in the agricultural areas, SIF JCB welcomed more than 100 visitors to its 400 m2 outdoor stand.

SIF JCB’s stole the show in Ankomak 2006

During the 16th ANKOMAK International Construction Machines and Construction Technologies Fair at CNR Fair Center, from 31 May to 4 June 2006, SIF JCB displayed 27 machines and generators at its attractive stand.

During the cocktail on Friday evening, June 2, due to 50th anniversary of SİF’s foundation, celebrations that would continue for one year, were kicked off in the presence of many guests.

During the fair, attractive light and sound shows were displayed in the 2000 m2 indoors stand of SIF JCB. 2 leased Segways and JCB bags distributed with them, were particularly impressive.

SİF JCB meets with the students of Sakarya University and ITU during Career Days

SIF JCB company presentation event on Sakarya University’s Technical Education School’s Conference Hall on May 2, 2006, was attended by 150 students, most of who are from Mechanical Engineering Department. SSH Director Recep Çimen gave the presentation and told the students about the problems of machinery industry, the developments, as well as lack of qualified technical staff and career opportunities.

Furthermore, in SIF JCB company presentation on May 10, 2006 at Istanbul Technical University, Gümüşsuyu Campus, Virtual Education Center, many students from mechanical engineering department showed great interest.

Backhoe Loader Training from SİF JCB SSH Department

JCB Backhoe Loader training organized for SİF JCB authorized service dealers’ staff, took place on 24-27 April 2006. The training which covered mostly machinery hydraulics, electrical system, JCB gear system, maintenance, repair and spare part topics, was led by the instructor Levent Şendurgut, from SIF JCB SSH Department.

Considering solving its customers’ problems and providing them with perfect service as its top priority, SIF JCB trains its authorized service dealers to attain its unconditional customer satisfaction goal.

Part of the 3.5 day training that took place from 20-23 March, was given at SIF JCB Headquarters’ training hall and part of it was given live on machines by Levent Şendergut, Service Engineer of SIF JCB’s After-Sales Department.

During the training given to 9 authorized service dealer staff, JS300 excavator were explained with theoretical electrical and hydraulics information and many tests were also carried out on the machine live. Furthermore, hydraulics test procedures, machine components were introduced, laptops were connected, diagnostic tools and maintenance topics were also covered.

During the half-day training on the last day of the procedure, Teletruk 30D 4x4 was introduced with various after-sales service and warranty points.

Press launch of SİF JCB Offshore Boat and Team a Huge Success

SIF JCB Team, which is participating the Offshore Championship held by İstanbul Offshore Club, for the third time this year, finished the first race in Istanbul Caddebostan on May 21, 2006 seventh by managing to beat six of its rivals.

During the Petrol Ofisi International Turkey Offshore Championship, organized by İstanbul Offshore Club for the past 3 years and which will kick off with the first race to take place on May 20-21 in Istanbul Caddebostan, SIF JCB Team lead by Burak Öztoygar and Turgut Kaynak, was introduced to the press on May 16, 2006.

SIF JCB Team which has been participating in the powerboat races that are extremely popular around the world and mostly named as ‘Extreme Sports’, made some great achievements in this sports that require utmost physical performance and a flawless team work. SIF JCB Boat which participated in the Petrol Ofisi International Turkey Offshore Championship that is in the international races calendar recognized by World Federation under the name "CLASS 3-225", has been produced under the license of British COUGAR Powerboats with the state-of-the-art technology.

Cüney Divriş, the General Manager of SIF JCB, said in his speech during the press launch that they maintained their success in business area in the sea sports as well and added that they were extremely happy to be able to participate in the Offshore Championship which is the combination of speed, power and courage. Divriş also said that sea sports made great contributions to national economy and that everybody should support it.

SİF JCB Sales Team in England for training

SİF JCB Regional and Dealer sales teams participated in the Backhoe Loader and JS Training held by JCB in Britain from 28 February to 1 March.

This training which was received along with teams from Iran, Sarajevo, Germany, provided both education and motivation to our sales team.

JCB's biggest awards for its distributors goes to SIF

Having closed 2005 with record sales, SIF JCB’s achievement has been certified with the Outstanding Achievement In Volume & Market Share Growth Award of JCB which is given to most successful distributors of JCB.

During the gala dinner, that took place after the 2006 Distributors Conference held in Birmingham, JCB Chairman Sir Anthony Bamford presented the award to SİF JCB General Manager Cüneyt Divriş. Sif JCB senior management thus enjoyed this rightful achievement in front of a 1000 people crowd.

SIF JCB, which was praised by JCB officials during the conference and showed as an example to other distributors around the world, is the first distributor of JCB outside England with its 1400 unit sales.

We believe that this huge achievement will further motivate SIF JCB staff and help it become the first distributor to make the biggest sales in JCB history other than British distributors by attaining its goal of ‘2006 machines in 2006’.

ROYAL AWARD FOR JCB

The president of JCB Sir Anthony Bamford received the Queens Award for best representing his country by exporting his products overseas. JCB was awarded the QUEENS award for being a world leader in the exports of excavator-loaders and their exporting  successes .During the ceremony where, Sir Anthony Bamford representing JCB in front of hundreds of JCB employees,  was presented the award as Princess Anne praising the company commented  that ‘ JCB is  an extraordinary company, that can  impart the family spirit to its employees, and a family company that is still able to stand on its own feet and more importantly an institution that has made the name JCB a world renowned brand name. The excavator-loaders produced by this company are known as JCB throughout the world. Wherever you go, whatever the brand, people call excavator-loaders JCB ‘.
Speaking after the Princess, Sir Anthony Bamford said ‘As a company we are proud to receive the 16th  Queens Award. We have reached a very important point in our 60 year history. We would like to share this achievement with all our employees. ‘
In addition Lord Lieutenant Mr Jamer Hawle, a dignitary from the city of Staffordshire where JCB is located stated that ‘We are proud to have such a company in our town and due to its worldwide success, our town is gaining worldwide recognition, believe me when I say my two year old grandson is growing up with the sound of JCB in his ears. ‘

Sir Anthony Bamford visits SiF JCB

The owner and the president of the board of directors of JCB Sir Anthony Bamford visited the SiF JCB Work Machines Headquarters. Arriving on his personal jet in Istanbul ,  on 7th of November 2005  for a visit to SİF JCB , Sir Anthony Bamford emphasized the importance the recent positive developments  in the Turkish Heavy Machinery sector form JCB’s point of view. Stating how pleased he was to be working with SİF JCB work machines that have been representing JCB for the last 30 years he also found an opportunity to chat with SİF JCB employees.

In the 60 th anniversary celebrations of the company in which old and new employees mingled ,the president of JCB , Sir Anthony Bamford  outlined new targets: ‘We  have a lot more work to do ‘. On 23 Oct 1945, Joseph Cyril Bamford or Mr. JCB as he was also known, was laying the foundations of the company at a garage in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. The fist product sold in the Uttoxeter market was an unloading trailer. Today there are over 6,000 employees working in 14 JCB factories worldwide. Of these 10 are in the UK, two in India, one in the USA and one in Brazil. A new factory is underway in China at the moment. The company belonging to the Bamford family produces ‘state of the art’  186 different types of products. The company this year, released the new Fastrac 8250 tractor, which is one of the most productive tractors in its class and has  a road speed of 65 km/hr .In addition JCB is a world leader in excavator-loaders which is one of its most famous products. The company for the first time this year offered a torque converter lock system on these machines that reduce fuel consumption and travelling time. JCB’s founding principles are  innovation and investment. So last year with the launching of a new JCB diesel engine, a project worth £ 80 million was realized. This engine is being produced at the JCB Power Systems facilities in Derbyshire

‘THE GREATEST EVER EXCAVATOR’
The world famous JCB excavator-loader developed by the founder of JCB Joseph Cyril Bamford over fifty years ago was awarded the title of the greatest ever excavator by the jury comprising experts , of the  GEATEST EVER TV programme produced jointly by , Discovery Channel Canada, Discovery Networks Europe and  Five. With over 325,000 excavator-loader’s sold in 5 continents JCB is renowned for its continual renewal of its products. The JCB torque converter lock introduced this year is prime example of this principle. This new development which is revolutionary in its concept eliminates torque losses by ensuring that the machine uses the highest gear available. The increase in performance means less travelling time and less fuel consumption and greater cost savings.  In one section of the TV program a contest is held, the theme of which is man against machine and this involves 15 rugby players from Burton RUFC digging a trench, 1 metre deep with 8 metres length with the largest shovels in the world in a race against a JCB excavator-loader, and at the end of the contest the muscle power of the rugby team gives way to the power of the JCB hydraulics and the JCB wins the contest easily in 14 minutes and 56 seconds.
JCB which won the fast speed excavator-loader tender of the American Army is celebrating its largest order in its 60 year history.

JCB, AT THE SERVICE OF THE SOLDIERS

It is expected that the contract signed for the 92 km/hr, High Mobility Engineer Excavator (HMEE) is to total $ 140 million dollars .JCB Executive Committee President John Patterson stated that the contract would be the highest value contract in the 60 year history of the company. Patterson also stated ‘It was quite difficult to beat international and American competitors ‘. ‘We achieved this with the aid of a sophisticated    machine developed by the by the JCB engineers’. He further stated that ‘The revolutionary technology of the HMEE will complement and assist the military engineer’s capabilities significantly and will provide us with huge global opportunities’.  The award for, the American Army  Tank Automotive and Hardware Commando  purchasing section tender, came after a three year period of design ,development and testing. After the production approval in 2006, the production will commence at the new JCB Inc Savannah, Georgia plant. Delivery will continue until 2012. HMEE encapsulates the properties of the world famous JCB excavator-loaders together with the innovative high speed of the worlds only single suspension, ABS equipped JCB Fastrac tractor. The main advantage of the HMEE is that it is a machine that can travel independently at the speed of a military convoy without the need for a TIR truck or trailer to carry it.  The 12 ton HMEE with its 5.9 litre diesel motor will be a four wheel drive train with four wheel steering system and will be able to lift more than two tons and will be able to be carried on a Hercules C-130 transport plane.

AT THE LE MANS İSTANBUL RACES

At the last race of the season we were at Istanbul Park. An endurance  race  based on the legendary Le Mans 24 hours races … In the 1000 km series race held between 11-12-13 November at Istanbul Park ,and at the last stage of the season ‘Team Jota’ raced under the sponsorship of JCB.  In the Le Mans Classic Endurance races, the 3 rd generation Bamford Family representative Joe Bamford raced with a 1971 model Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Competition, which was a car from the family collection. SSİF JCB Work Machines taking the advantage of such an opportunity provided support to the JCB teams and also enabled its customers to watch the race from the comfort of the VIP salon it had rented for that day.

At Growtech Eurasia 2005

We participated in the ‘Growtech Eurasia 2005 – International Greenhouse ,Agricultural Equipment and Flowers Exhibition’  held between 1-4 December at Antalya Expo centre as SİF JCB Work Machines with our eye  catching   stand . The exhibition in which we exhibited our Fastrac, Micro, 530-70 Farm Special, 1 CX ve 8032 Mini Excavators was very successful from our company point of view and drew the attention of many visitors to the exhibition.

JCB Donates £500,000 worth of Construction
Machinery to the Disaster Areas

JCB contributed to the Disaster relief aid in Pakistan and India by donating over £500,000 worth of machinery as aid to the work in the disaster area.  Four 20 ton excavators for the Military Salvage Teams operating in the earthquake disaster areas, and in India two JCB excavator-loaders were donated to aid in the salvage and cleaning works. Excavators with tracks are designed for heavy excavating and demolition work and are used by the Pakistani army for the cleaning of roads and demolition and cleaning up of damaged buildings .The machines are supported by Blackwood Hodge who is the JCB Karachi dealer. In India JCB is working together with Oxfam who is playing a leading role in the aid effort. This donation of construction machinery worldwide to stricken areas is a frequently encountered event in the JCB community. The company donated over £ 1 million worth of machinery to the Tsunami relief work, anodic machines were used in South India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. Additionally in Turkey in 1999 it also provided aid for the earthquake disaster.

JCB Group President Sir Anthony Bamford stated ‘We have a duty to aid the peoples of India and Pakistan who have suffered greatly as a result of this earthquake. I hope that these machines may be of speedy help in restarting their lives all over again ‘.

We shared the 1,000 Th Machine Sale of the Year with Turkey
As we stated in our previous issue we broke another record by selling the 1000th machine in the sector on 9 September 2005. We carried out an advertising campaign by using the media sectors giants and their high circulation newspapers and magazines. We shared our pride with the whole of Turkey via, Hürriyet newspaper economy page on 24 and 27 October, Ekonomist magazine issue of 23 October, Capital magazine November issue, Yeni Para magazine 23 October issue, and Forbes magazine November issue.  The 1,000 machine sold by SİF JCB, which holds % 40 of the excavator-loader market in Turkey, was a JCB 3 CX SM model excavator-loader.

Authorized Service Trainings are Continuing

SİF JCB which has adopted the principle of providing the best service available to JCB customers is continually training its authorized service personnel. Between 28 November 1 December 2005 in the training provided by the After Sales Services Department, the first two days were spent in providing information on JCB JS 330 Electrics and Hydraulics and the third day was spent on JCB Motor, PDI and Warranty procedures .The last day of the trainings subject was JCB excavator-loader. In the loader training given by Dave Mortlock between 12-16 December 2005 information was provided on the loaders workings and malfunctions. Both trainings were carried out at the Headquarters.

Second SİF JCB container in Ankara

The first container went into service on Çetin Emeç bulvarı, and the second was setup on Keçiören Hafriyatçı stop in December. SİF JCB general Manager Cüneyt Divriğ who wants to create a warm home atmosphere for the excavators had an opportunity to talk to JCB friends and customers at his container. It is planned to increase the number of containers at the Ankara stop, and Adana and Istanbul

WE SAID HELLO TO 2006 ALTOGETHER

The new Years party was held at the Marmora hotel on 23 December with the participation of the Headquarters, Regional, dealer and Service staff. During the night which was accentuated by the singing of Şehnaz Sam, the SİF JCB personnel that had served for 5, 10 and 15 years were given plaques, and in the lottery that was held during the night the guests won various surprise prizes. The employees that were celebrating the 1401 annual machine sales realized, were all chanting the new slogan for 2006 , ‘2006 machines for 2006’. The little celebration held at the SİF JCB HQ on 30th of December was also a success.

SİF JCB is Certified

The ISO 9001:2000 Quality Administration System Works that were begun on July 2005 were finalized in December thanks to the efforts of all SİF JCB personnel and SİF JCB was certified. SİF  JCB successfully passed the external audits carried out by ABS Quality Evaluations and will concentrate its future efforts in providing the best quality service for is customers and will continually develop itself towards maintaining its new standards.

The Number of Authorized Services in Turkey is now 19

With the addition of  Güven- iş at Van, Ankara Makine at Malatya, Ate?san at Gebze, Temas Otomotiv at Eskişehir and Emin-iş at Samsun the number of authorized services Turkey wide for SİF JCB, which is a leader in the field of excavator-loaders has reached 19. Reçep Çimen who is the SİF JCB construction Machinery after Sales Services Director stated that together with the new services ,their aim is to provide JCB customers with the best quality service and spare parts ,to increase customer satisfaction and to enforce the brand security.

The traditional İftar table held on 31 October at the SİF JCB Headquarters was again filled with the food prepared by the employees. Add to that the friendly banter of friends and the evening turned out to be a memorable one.

Elce Makina was opened by SIF JCB’s General Manager Cüneyt Divriş on January 23rd, 2005 to serve as the 13th authorized service of SIF JCB Iş Makinaları, the leader foundation of backhoe loader sector. Elce Makina, founded by Mehmet Elbaşı, Bayram Ceylan and Fehmi Varol, aims to deliver the best service to the all JCB owners in Konya, Karaman, Aksaray, Afyon, Niğde and Nevşehir with its superior service approach. We are glad to be able to deliver efficent service to Konya which is considered as one of the promising cities of Turkey with its emerging industry and substructure.

First designed for the employees in the JCB parking lot at Çetin Emeç Avenue, the container project is extended to the other parking lots in response to the positive feedback from the employees.

In the last edition of IŞ’TE SIF, it was announced that this project wouldn’t be limitted with just one parking lot. SIF JCB kept its promise accordingly and carried out the procedure with the other parking lots.

SIF JCB employees and agencies awarded themselves with a joyful USA tour for the successful 2004 period. Including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York visits the tour turned out to be more exciting with the 60th anniversary of JCB celebrated in Las Vegas. Our authorized staff were proud of being awarded by JCB in “Best Backhoe Loader Dealer” and “Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Innovation” branches.

During the tour our guests had the opportunity to see the worldwide famous places like Universal studios, Hollywood Avenue, Grand Canyon and Conexpo 2005 Fair as well. The guests had unforgettable moments in the warm and enjoying atmosphere of the tour.

SIF JCB, the Turkish distributor of JCB, proved its success with two awards which were delivered in the 60th anniversary of JCB celebrated in USA.

The awards for “Best Backhoe Loader Dealer” and “Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Innovation” went to Ali Rıza Işık, a member of our administrative counsil and they were handed by the JCB Chairman Sir Anthony Bamford and the CEO of JCB John Patterson for SİF JCB.

Organized by East and Southeast Anatolian associations the meeting about East and Southeast Anatolian Earthquake Zone was held on 22nd May, 2005 in charge of Prof. Dr. Naci Görün, Tubitak National Earthquake Coordination president.

Around 200 participants attended the conference including the wellknown Turkish academics, local managers, local representatives of political parties as well.

In the conference ,with great interest of the media, JCB was appreciated giving machinery aid in the aftermath of the earthquake in Adapazarı-Izmit and $1M worth of machine in Asian Quake disaster.

We are proud to participate in this organisation which is about an extremely serious matter for our country, and thank to our Thrace Agency Cermak for taking the first step.

SIF JCB participated in MARBLE 2005 Fair, held at Izmir International Fair Area on March 31st- April 3rd with the models JS330, 456 ZX, 3CX SM and TLT30D 4x4.

Having the opportunity to welcome its guests in its outstanding stand SIF JCB realized another successful fair affair.

The 14th SIF JCB Iş Makinaları authorized service of Turkey was opened in Tokat on April 18th by our After Sales Director Recep Çimen in the presence of Tokat major, AKP local representative and Tokat mufti.

Gümüş Makina, founded by Ayhan Gümüş, will meet spare part and service needs of the JCB customers in Tokat and Amasya. It is aimed to deliver the best service to the JCB owners in this region with our outstanding service approach.

As being related to the publicity of our company a meeting was held on 2005, 11th of May in Prof. Dr. Reşat Nalbantoğlu Hall in ITU Management Faculty with the help of Ciğdem Turgay, one of the employees of Profera which delivers consulting service to our company in human resources. A lot of students most of whom study industrial engineering attended the organization.

Informed about SIF JCB Iş Makinaları and carrier opportunities the students took the first step in joining the SIF JCB family by filling in the application forms.

Our lit billboard, which has been placed in Ankara Esenboğa Airport Domestic Flights Departure Terminal since April, will focus on the “flying” group with its outsanding and unique visiual design throughout the year.

SIF JCB didn’t miss 8th March, “International Women’s Day”. As it gets harder and harder each day to appeal to women’s sensitive world, SIF JCB took the advantage of the day and celebrated the ladies giving away them chocolate which is the best way leading to their hearts. By the way, we celebrate all women’s “ International Women’s Day” once more.

Regarding to the successful planning, sales and service operations SIF JCB After Sales Department was honoured with “JCB Partnership 2004” award in April. The special computer programme set up by our department was highly appreciated. We congratulate our After Sales Director Recep Çimen and his team.

In the “Efficient Communication Skills” and “Management In My Life” training programmes, attended by SIF JCB employees and managers in three groups, the instructors were Dilara Kehale and Aide Abdullah. The participants’ training aimed both the company’s and the individual’s improvement, in accordance with our company’s vision, mission and basic values.

SIF JCB After Sales Department, following the principles of sorting out its customers’ problems and delivering service without any problem, supports this approach with the technical trainings given to the employees of the authorized services.

On 21-25 March, Mark Neal and on 15-20 May, John Hallows were the instructors of the Backhoe Loader and Hammermaster Trainings which were held in the SIF JCB Headquarters.

The conditions of operating of the hydraulic systems in the JCB backhoe-loaders, gear and Precision Control were introduced in the Backhoe-loader Training, in which 19 authorized service employees participated. In the Hammermaster Training, in which 24 participants took place, an employee from BP gave a presentation about mineral oils for two hours beside the technical information given.

9 SİF JCB employees were entitled to the operator licenses on 26-27 May with the training given by Turkish Mechanical Engineers Association, İstanbul agency. Our licenced employees will have the chance to operate the machines in a more concsious and safer way in warehouses, fairs and special demonstrations.

SIF JCB added one more activity to others, organized with the aim of developing close relationships with its customers.

The first project was realized on 4th June Saturday, benefiting from the facilities of Headquarters. After the film about SIF JCB, the machines were introduced with the demos and presentations while developing our relationships with our customers by the Barbecue party we held in our garden.

John Patterson the CEO of JCB, who was in Istanbul to join the company's Turkey distributor, SIF's new buildings opening ceremony, stated that Turkish market sales would be decisive in reaching their target, which is 10 % of total world sales.

Reminding that they had been operating over 30 years under the roof of SIF JCB in Turkey, Mr. Patterson emphasized that they had been the market leader in construction equipment sales in Turkey and he believed they would grow further. "The aim of SIF JCB would be to increase its Turkish market share in Backhoe-Loader market from 30% to 50% at the end of the year 2004 and raise its total sales numbers from 600 to 1000," he said. Stating that JCB was seeing Turkey as a market with excellent opportunities, Mr. Patterson added that Turkey was a country with the population of 70 million and the number was growing. This meant that the infrastructure and building of social and public places would be continuous and this would strengthen the demand for construction equipment. Adding that they had bought many items from Turkey for their manufacturing in England, he stated that he was very closely following the changes in Turkish economy. "For instance we have procured the cast parts of our latest engine from Turkey, which will be launched in three weeks. We will continue to contribute to Turkish economy in this way," he said.

Reminding their market leadership in Backhoe-loader type vehicles, he said they would like to increase their sales in other segments. "There are over 150 products in our portfolio and we would like to extend our sales in industrial segment as well as construction equipment sales in line with our future strategies. I believe with the contribution of mini loader, excavator and telescopic telehandler sales, which are widely used in rest of the world but not much in Turkey we can further improve our sales." He concluded that the 9 excavators sold last month was proof of that.

Digger giant JCB is donating $1 million worth of machines to help in the clear up operation in the Asian earthquake disaster zone.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been left homeless in the area affected by the quake and the JCB machines will play a vital part in helping families rebuild their lives.

JCB machines are now being made available through JCB India and also through JCB's dealers in the devastated region.

JCB Chairman Sir Anthony Bamford said: "As we've watched the devastation in the region unfold, it is quite obvious that immediate assistance is needed to help in the aftermath of this disaster.

"JCB will make available as many machines as we can to help in the clear up efforts. If it takes more than $1 million, we stand ready to help.

"JCB has machines which suit the conditions to enable us to help swiftly in the disaster relief and it is important we do as much as we can to help the countries in this region which have been so devastated by the earthquake and resulting tidal wave."

It is not the first time JCB has offered equipment following natural disasters. In 2001, JCB machines also played a big part in the clear up operation in the aftermath of the Gujarat earthquake in India , which killed more than 20,000 people. In 1999, JCB machines were used in the aftermath of an earthquake in Izmit , Turkey , which claimed the lives of thousands of people and destroyed 60,000 homes.

JCB STRIKES GOLD WITH SOUTH AMERICAN MINERAL PLANT ORDER

A fleet of JCB's largest machines is helping one of South America 's most important mineral companies prospect for gold in one of the remotest parts of the world.

The ten heavyweight JCB products are playing a key role at the opencast mine near El Dorado - a Venezuelan village which shares its name with the fabled South American City , which was reputedly rich in treasures and which was sought out by 16 th century Spanish explorers.

The La Emilia mine is operated by Mineria MS and is situated 800 miles south east of the Venezuelan Capital Caracas, in the heart of a region renowned for rich gold reserves. The area is 5½ hours by road from the nearest industrial town of Puerto Ordaz and is populated by indigenous people.

It has taken 18 months to prepare the mine and dig to a depth of 100 metres to reach high grade gold reserves. Now two 46-tonne JS460 excavators, equipped with 3m³ buckets, are busy digging 8,000 tonnes of soil out of the mine each day and, assisted by a JCB 456ZX wheeled loading shovel, loading it into five 22 tonne JCB 722 articulated dump trucks.

The dump trucks then travel 600 metres to a processing plant - along gradients of up to 15% - where a further two JCB 456ZX wheeled loading shovels, equipped with 3.5m³ buckets, load the soil into hoppers in a round-the-clock operation.

PRETTY IN PINK

A leading breast cancer research charity has been tickled pink by a world-first for JCB.

JCB is renowned around the globe for its famous yellow diggers but now, for the first time, one of the company's mini machines has been produced in bright pink to help raise money for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity.

And the bright pink idea - made possible by JCB dealer Gunn JCB - proved to be a media hit too with the BBC and scores of newspapers and magazines across the world covering the story.

Over the next few months, the 1.5 tonne pink JCB mini excavator will be hired out to construction companies in the North West - and the rental fees donated to the charity.

The idea is the brainchild of fundraiser Cath Woods, a school teacher from Blackburn, Lancashire, who was successfully treated for breast cancer in 1997 and has since raised in excess of £12,000 for Breakthrough.

Mother-of-two Cath, who already has a number of leading companies lined up to hire the eye-catching machine, said: 'It is a wonderful gesture by Gunn JCB to donate the mini-excavator and to paint it pink for us.

'Not only will it raise thousands of pounds for the charity, I believe it will also help to raise awareness about breast cancer. A pink JCB on building sites and being transported around the North West should certainly stimulate people's curiosity.

4-YEAR-OLD JCB FAN

Construction machines, inevitable investment tools of the construction sector, always draw attention not only because of their impressive design but also the way they operate. Whenever a construction machine starts operating, you can always witness a group of people around, especially kids, watching admiringly. That might give an idea about the number of the admirers of these machines.

JCB, by chance, discovered one of its little fans, whose interest took him from the fantasy world of toy shelves to the real world. 4-year-old Doğukan Akyıldız, a real JCB admirer, ordered various JCB models via internet, just like a real investor. Upon JCB's request, Burak Sığ from SIF JCB probed the case and found out a shocking fact: The mysterious JCB customer turned out to be 4-year-old little Doğukan.
